About

I serve as Associate Professor of Global Studies and Church History at Liberty University. I completed a PhD (historical theology) at the University of Wales-Trinity Saint David and a PhD (intercultural studies) at the University of Pretoria. Aside from teaching, I enjoy doing research and writing in the areas of early Christian and intercultural studies and my books include Augustine as Mentor and Early Christianity in North Africa (a translation of Francois Decret's French original), and Brazilian Evangelical Missions in the Arab World. Over the past twenty years, I have worked with a variety of ministries (youth, international students, worship, media) while serving the church in North America, France, and North Africa. An ordained Southern Baptist minister, I presently worship and serve as an elder at Bedrock Community Church, while also preaching at other churches and speaking at conferences. Since 1999, I have been married to Shawn and we have three children: Brennan, Emma, and Eve. As a family, we enjoy hiking, riding bikes, watching movies, exploring the North Carolina Outer Banks, and suffering as Washington Redskins fans.
